    Hey guys -
Sorry to bother with the newbie post. After looking around the boards and trying to burn a few DVDs, I am still having a problem. After I burn the disc with DVD Decrypter, it stays as an ISO file. The movie will not play on my computer, but will it work on a stand alone player. I would check myself, but I only have a Playstation right now, and that will not work. If I am doing something wrong, and help would be appreciated
    Requesting some enlightenment
    Scott

I guess first of all is to check that you are doing to process correct. Take a look at this guide to verify your process.

    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/small_dvd_2_dvdr.cfm

As noted in the guide it can only be used for "DVDs smaller than 4.36GB". This is because larger DVD's will need to be compressed to fit on a single DVD+-R. If this is the case you will need DVD Shrink. Follow this process to complete the compression.

    http://www.polarhome.com:793/~afonic/shrink31.htm

The change that you will have to make is in step 3. Instead of clicking on the open disk button in the main window you will need to go to file then open. This will allow you to browse for your files. Make sure that all your files are stored in a single folder. Follow the rest of the steps in the guide.

Once the file is compressed Nero is a great program to burn the compilation to DVD. Follow this step-by-step guide to complete this process.

The answer to your question whether this will play on your stand alone player can be answered at the following link.

    Hi Scott,
I can play both +R and -R on my PS2, the +R seems a bit more compatable though.

Good advice by rack04, I would save DVDDecrypter just in case you have a movie that Shrink 3.1.4 can't decrypt. Shrink can do what Decrypter does and compress your DVD-9 to fit.
If you install Nero, Shrink 3.1.4 will auto-burn for you.

Buy high quality media, Ritek and Memorex +R work pretty well. Your playstation is picky, if its like mine.
I bought a cheap DVD player so I could save the expensive PS2 for games.
