It's a big bug. An a/D software bug. It's been with us for a long time. Months at least.

    -----------

Petteri, for (at least) many months now, the ability for someone to change or update their personal user profile, has been an ON and then OFF kind of thing. First, the capability is there. Then, it's not. At random. It's a crap shoot.

I tried, just as a test, to create a signature line. I succeeded. No problem.

My sig line was *huge* (on purpose) - I was testing it. I see that you allow 4 lines of text. Well, 10 minutes later I tried deleting the sig line. a/D wouldn't let me.

"As these message boards are still in early phase, this function is not yet supported. Hopefully it will be within a couple of weeks, but so far, we're sorry about the inconvenience that lack of this feature might have caused you."

I bet you wrote this line well over a year ago. Still, the BUG is there.

10 minutes after *that*, the 'change user profile' capability, magically becomes available.

My new signature line is now a single dot. "." That's it. Why? ....(Well....)

Because, even when your 'change user profile' function *does* work, it won't let me delete the sig line altogether, *once* something or other has initially been put into it.

    Buggy buggy buggy. Buzzzzzzzzz buzzzzz.....

(I bet that "dot" (.) in my sig line is still there. How to get rid of it?

    -- Klingy -- <<<<<-------(manually-entered sig line).

Ah, complaining users are a trend of today.. Gonna sell the site and turn it into a pay-for-porn site soon.. Or something ;-)

The "edit user profile" is available only through the main site, the link in the forums doesn't work.

And the deleting of a sig is a bug, I'll look into it.

    ;-)

And did you notice the fancy new "thread has been updated" link? The link takes you directly to the post it refers to.

Well.... (ummm....), no, actually I didn't see that. (I've missed something probably). But then, I've got about 8 beers in me. :)

You can only re-program so much in 20 minutes, Petteri. But ain't it weird? I've been online for just a bit now, and 'GhostDog' already noticed my earlier <silly> sig line. I actually made it about 25 lines-or-so. (which you chopped to 4 lines, of course). People notice things *fast* here on a/D.

    You're cutting edge. <really!>

Must check out cd-rw.org. I think they just answered my (audio) post.

    Live Long And Prosper, Petteri.
