I made a backup of my Socom II game that I patched with the actual disc id from my game. When I try to play online, it says that I've been detected cheating, and bans me. How can I play my backup online without getting banned?

hey, to get online with, i guess what your talking about is a backup copy? Anyway, you cant use the backup copy to get online. Ud have 2 get through about 60 lines of codes just to break the surface of getting online. Then after that ud have to get through MORE codes to break through the server. I guess unless u wanna get online youd have to use the original. If ur original is scratched, then u can probably buy a patch or some thing that could fix it. Email me for any questions. my email address is [IMG]

Actually no..... What its doing is detecting your chip, i have also patched socom 2 and various other games.... But socom 2 is so far the only one that does not go through.... I have tried the original socom2 on my ps2 with the chip turned off and i still get the same message that jose3526 gets. I suspect their new patch detecting the modchip. Anywho So far i do not know of a way of getting arround this. just barrow someone else ps2 and play with theirs online...

Do you get banned from all servers when you're caught with a chip/cheat/backup? Or is it just for that game? Or what?

    I've always been curious.
But it's stuff like this that makes me glad that I got a PS2 for the RPGs, adventure games, and racing titles. You know, solo games that don't ever require me to ever get online.

I'm so burned out on competitive games, especially online ones like Counter-Strike.
