I'm downloading Jak 3 because my actual copy of the game is damaged too severely to be read for backup. (All my other backups are burnt from owned USA NTSC games.)

One option says "Jak 3" and is like 4 gigs, but several others all say "Jak 3 PAL" and these are all 2.7 gigs. I'm wondering why the sizes are so different if they are simply different region releases of the same game. Maybe the bigger file has different extra files or is compressed less?

Besides, I think I understand that my Swap Magic + slide card can play PAL and Jap etc.. just as well as NTSC, right? Anyone with Jak 3, how big should it be?

    Thanks for any help.

The Jak 3 ISO is officially 4.21 GB (when not compressed at all). The reason why the PAL version is smaller (2.71 GB) is because it is compressed in a WINRAR archive, so you were right about that.
