jvc capturing to computer?

    i have a jvc gr-dv3000 and i am not sure on how to get my videos onto the computer. i am only able to get contents of the sd card on. i have found a dvi port but dont have the cable and am unsure where to connect to computer. is this the cable which allows me to get videos onto pc.

    Yes, you use the DVi port to connect the Camera to your PC. You will need to have a FireWire (IEEE 1394) port on the PC and you generally get a cable with these. A card with 4 Firewire ports and cable can be obtained for around $20-$30 (depending on where you shop!)

    Some JVC cameras also have a USB port which can be used to download video but to be honest, I don't think it's worth it as the picture quality isn't all that great.
