The University of Tennessee has started filtering kazaa file transfers. Does anybody understand how they're doing this or a way around it? Much love to whoever even hazards a guess. FIGHT THE MAN!!!

Well you probably mean that they have setup something on an entire network to filter out the files but if you mean that they have physically changed something on the computer you are using then try this!

Click tools - options - filter. Now I'd doubt that you can just go along and change it if they have filtered it, they would most likely have it password protected. But if you can then fair nuff. If you cant, try this!

Close Kazaa.Click start - run. type regedit and click run. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Kazaa/ResultsFilter

Look to the left and you will see a password setting and yes it is unencrypted. Just double click it and delete the password. Now open kazaa again and the filters wont be password protected!

Now I'm pretty sure that the university are much smarter thn that so i'd really doubt that would fix your problem but just in case somebody is searching through someday for a way to beat the filter in kazaa then they might find this thread and it might work for them!
