Hi All, new to the forum & hope someone can help me.

I Have an android MX3 Ultra box running Kodi. Specifications below:

    MX3 Ultra Max
    Android Version 4.4.2
    Build Number 116k4
    Kernel Version 3.10.33
    Oman@ubuntu#1

    Kodi v 14.2
    Git: 2015-03-26-7cc53a9-dirty (compiled:mar 26 2015)

    Screen Res: 1920 x 1080 @ 60hz Full Screen (28fps)

    Ok so to the problem:

When I watch a HD movie it seems to be stretched Vertically. Changing the TV (LG Smart LED) Aspect ratio doesn't make any difference, it changes the frame size of the picture but the image is still stretched.

So I tried a couple of things:

I went into System>Video> Acceleration and Disabled the Allow hardware acceleration (AMCODEC)

Now this totally fixed the stretched picture problem but caused 1080p movies to skip, not play back properly and the audio sync is a mile out! 720p of the same movie works fine with AMCODEC disabled, picture and image are good.

I'm no expert with Kodi so I'm sure there must be a fix for this somewhere as I would really like to play them in 1080p. Someone mentioned it could be Android firmware?

    Hope someone can help me.

the stretch you describe as far as i know will either be due to the video res & or the player being used.On a pc using vlc or mpc this can be compensated by adjusting the settings with the video player itself,as you describe regarding aspect ratio however unlike attempting to get the tv to fit the picture it needs to be i would think the other way round. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of picture adjustment in kodi or xbmc for that matter, there is "screen calibration" to set screen height & width, you then have some presets & custom option in "view mode" or there's "pixel ratio" which appears to draw the bottom & top together tho i'm not sure if you have these options as i'm playing with xbmc (kodi's predecessor) at the moment.I get to those options by starting any video & pressing a button to get the on screen play/fast forward menu bar that also has video & audio options & selecting the video option, you should be able to do the same.Failing that there is a kodi forum

The only other thing i can think of is the video itself is using a weird video resolution size & it's not 1920x1080 or any other normal viewing res, mediainfo can tell you that. That's all i got other than recoding the video to a lower size like 1280x720 or to 720x576
