kryptview a780

    hi, pls do i need a 9 pin null modem cable or a different null modem cable for the kryptview a780

    Tnx for the quick reply.. i will be using my HP lap top and i just checked. my laptop has i5 pin holes so what do i do please ? would like to order the right cable today before 5pm so i get it 2moro

    you would need a usb adapter and a rs232 serial cable http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/779888
    have a look at the picture and the guide for flashing the box from a laptop,
    cant help you on the laptop set up,never flashed a box on a laptop befour,

    ok so i need a 9 pin null moden USB plug adapter instead of a Null modem 9pin right

    you would be better of finding someone with an old pc with xp and serial port as many others have run into problems with usb adapters and drivers etc.looking at that link it looks like a serial cable which is wired straight,a null modem cable has a cross over wire for flashing.

    on the loader it gives you 4 choices of com ports to use,are you using a null modem cable and usb adapter? dont think the graphic pc adapter cable is right.

    I'm really sorry to bother you.please be patient im new to this. iv bought a kryptview a780 and im finding it difficult to flash using the usb 9 pin null cable.when i connect it i cant find the driver and iv tried several times installing it. when i try to put the firmware on the box it says THE DOWNLOADING IS NOT REQUESTED. iv tried with all the COM PORTS. please help, please. Thank You

    did you look at the video??box has to be powered off first at rear then press download and power on.

    ok.. can i use any internet provider to connect to the box or is there a specific one? can i use talk talk, BT, vm etc
