Sorry if I've posted in the wrong place.

My sons laptop lcd screen broke when he dropped it!!!!

Now my daughters is broke 'cos she stood on it!!!!

I've done simple repairs before but I thought I'd ask advice,

Should I pay someone to fix them or do it myself?

    Is it easy?

How much should it cost per laptop?

    Thanks :)

You should be able to find teardown/dis-assembly documents for your laptop from the manufacturer, which would then make it a case of finding a replacement part (you'd have to locate this, either on manufacturer documentation or on the part itself) and replacing it. Generally you can take most electronics apart with easily obtainable tools - ie crosshead, flat and torx screwdrivers and a craft knife/credit card/opening tool of some description.

    Thanks ddp

I'm in the UK so I'll look for another site and have a go at replacing the screens myself.

    Any help appreciated :)

Doesn't matter, it should have come with 1 year manufacturer warranty that Dell will oblige anyway, so worth looking in to if that applies to you.
