I know that if i buy a game i am legally permitted to create a backup, however Microsoft have made it harder than necessary to do this. Most people do not know how to create a backup of their legally bought games. My question is does anybody know if it would be illegal to provide a service which backs up legally purchased games for a small fee. For example my friend comes to me and asks me to make a copy of his game for him since i know how to do it and he doesnt. I charge him £5 for this service. It doesnt seem like it would be illegal since i am not providing illegaly copied games. Does anybody know where the law stands on this in the UK and the US?

It's only illegal because Microsoft, RIAA or MPAA ( Music and Movie organizations) won't get the $4.80 they feel they are intitled to when you back up your friend's game.
