I'll hook you up with some actual help, don't worry. This same process pissed me off as well. Here are the settings that work for me (I'm directly connecting the two, not using a router or anything): Xbox Settings (from dashboard): - static ip - "yes" - ip: 192.168.0.3 - subnet: 255.255.255.0 - default gateway: (blank) LAN Settings (on computer - Network Settings): - ip: same as xbox but .1 at end, not .3 - subnet: 255.255.255.0 Also, make sure you are using a crossover cable, not a standard one. I didn't know the difference until I bought a crossover from RadioShack for $10.
crossover cables is that what the xbox site is sellin 4 £20 well i borght a hub a router n 10 meter inthernet cables well thanks any way ill try that
