Quick question regarding Linux Livedvd-i686 installer. >>

    I downloaded a freeware livedvd from this site . . . http://isohunt.com/torrents/?ihq=livedvd-i686-installer-2007.0.iso.CONTENTS

I burned the iso file to a dvd using magiciso successfully.
When I tried to boot it on my computer, making sure my dvd player boots up before my hd, my computer goes to a black screen, then proceeds to just load windows.

Could i get some help setting this up?

Do you realize that you've got a Gentoo iso? It isn't exactly a linux distro for newbies. If you haven't already read it at least twice, I very strongly suggest you read the following. And then read it again. It should answer probably 99% of any problems you'd encounter. Please read it thoroughly before coming back, it may make you reconsider installing it entirely. http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/2007.0/handbook-x86.xml?full=1#book_part1_chap2

I used to use Gentoo, but it is really only good for a hobby I found. If you want something with a similar level of control but with binary packages, take a look at Arch: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Official_Arch_Linux_Install_Guide

Hey, sorry. Don't worry about installation help. I ended up installing Ubuntu 7.10. It's awesome with one exception. I bought a crappy little x1300 graphics card without realizing there is no ubuntu 7.10 driver. I was wondering if you know how i can install it anyways. also, any possibility it would be beryl compatible? Right now I'm running Ubuntu using my onboard VGA. But I would really like Beryl running smooth.
