You need the emulators. Personally, I use snesDS and nesDS; but I know there are a whole lot more you can find on the internet. You can pretty much run all all NES games and a very few selected SNES if that.
Question for all - if I understand this correctly - I need a R4 card with a micro sd card - then somehow I get ds lite games & install them onto the card - then I have games for my kids? Sounds fantastic - anyone want to take the time & explain this to me - not very technical

Flash card is basically your memory card that holds your data. Now, flash cart (cartridge) is basically in this case the R4. It serves as an adapter for your Micro SD card to be fitted to your R4. I assume you've looked at the guide?
