I tried to solder the magic 3.1 last week but have failed completely!!! It ruined my ps2. I just bought a new one. The problem is that the first copper plate of my chip (5v) has come out a bit. There is little copper showing on the side of that point. Will that be enough?

I also just ordered the magic 3.1 clip. Do you guys think that it would be the way to go. I didnt have a problem soldering but the bios points were just too close together.

Is the magic clip worth it or is it a piece of junk..

    Thanks all...

don't use clip, have a lot of trouble. you still can solder on 5v copper left on magic board.

Maybe you should think about sending it in so someone can do it for you.
