I have a problem, I had my ver 6 ps2 modded by Xteammods and for about a few days, it ran w/o a hitch. But recently, my ps2 seems to die as I try to put in a ps2 game or dvd media.

The system hangs and the blue light (open button) will not turn on. The green light does turn on but the screen is black. Nothing will load; the ps2 gives me no response whatsoever. I can tell you that the fan runs and the green light lights up. This has never happened before the system was modded.

This is troubling me greatly as it has happened twice already. The first time it occurred, I turned it on, off, reset... nothing would work. Until it spontaneously decided to work again; i had no idea what happened and thought that it was a one-time only thing. Now, my brother recently just put in a dvd movie and he's complaining to me that the ps2 won't boot or respond. I can't get it out of this "state" again.

Does this happen to other 3.1 magic chips? Or is my system on the verge of destruction? I have spent a great deal of time and money on modding this ps2 and I DON'T WANT IT TO DIE.

Please respond quickly, my ps2 is in dire need of help.

No it doesnot happen with real magic chips
DID u check that it was a original or a clone
Maybe One of the wires must hav come out( the soldered wires)
So u may open ur Ps2 and check all thwe wires again and check the ppoints
    Maybe problem would lie there
    Hope it helps

Well since xteammods modded his system...I'm about 99.9% sure that it isn't a clone...just because xteammods only use real chips.

Okay, I just installed my Magic 3.1 this week end and it works just fine.

How do I know if mine is a clone or original ?

I have the red board Magic 3.1 modchip but while looking at all the different installation diagrams, I noticed the mod chips were blue in color.

So which is the right one??
