I made a copy of Final Fantasy X-2 with DVD Decrypter and I use a No Solder Modchip and Swap Magic.

I have also backed up that game. I have a ps 2 V4 w/ duo chip inside and and boots 100% every time. I used nero to back it up. Just did a disc to disc copy and it worked fine. I also have a V5 w/ flip top and swap magic discs and it also works fine on that.

DVD Decrypter 3.1.7.0, Sony DRU-500a, Optodisc DVD-RW 2x, PS2 Board 7, older AppleV2 chip. Works, except for some spotty loading, but, I believe my laser is dying, too, since it also does this on originals.
