hey i'm new at this, i want to make backups of my ps2 games, can i do this just by making a image of the disk and then burning the image to a dvd-r? or do i have to do other things to get it to work? if that works i know i'm asking in the wrong place but will it work to copy dvd movies as well?

Use DVD Decrypter (only works with DVD5 discs, burning dual layer DVDs is a whole other topic which you can search for on the forums):

    1) ISO>READ (to make image on hard drive)
    2) ISO>WRITE

Then you need some type of "MOD" to play the backup disc. Some popular ones are:

    1) Swap Magic Boot discs
    2) Mod chip (voids warranty)

My personal favorite is HD Loader which I'm using now. It backs up your games to a HD and you can boot directly from the drive. No burning or modding required.
