Hey there stumbled across these forums trying to google an answer to this question but i've come across too many answers many of which i know aren't relevant like reencoding. now say if i download .avi files with external subtitles (.sub .idx .srt etc) i always bundle it all together (particularly useful if if the .avi is split into 2 discs as vdubmod won't join the subs) to a single .mkv cas its neater that way and more importantly i can configure the subtitles to be off by default (or display forced subs only) instead of having hearing impaired subs pop up every time the file changes. now this is great for me, i want nothing more than .mkv files as all screens in my house are PCs. but as i'm sure most of you are aware there are the less tech savvy amongst us (in this case my missus' parents) that are only just catching onto divx players and in this case only cas my missus bought them one (without consulting me i may add to choose a device that supports the most common formats i get these days ie hd avc .mkv to save me hassles like this) to which i added a small old 200gb ide hdd in usb caddie i had gathering dust. So now they want a copy of 200 files that i've already fixed with mkvmergegui so what i wanna know is if anyone knows a quick painless way to remux them back to there original components in a batch job. i really can't be bothered doing them individually.
