Matrix Infinity and PSX games (+ Castlevania SotN problem)

I have a question regarding Matrix Infinity modchips ability called "PSX game screenfix". So is this supposed to remove those black borders from the bottom and the top of my screen ? Because I can still see them when the "PSX screen fix" option is turned ON from Infinity menu. Every PSX game I have has black border in the bottom of the screen. Some games, like Castlevania SotN also have black border in top of the screen. Speaking of Castlevania, how do you run that game with FAST disc speed and SMOOTH textures ? It always gets stuck to the "Piracy harms developers..." -screen which looks all messed up anyway. Works fine with those NORMAL settings.

I have v12 PAL console and most of the games I have are NTSC... If that information is relevant

lol if you downloaded the game then probably somebody modified the .iso and slipped in a message saying "piracy harms developers" which isn't true because modding a ps2 these days is alot cheaper than back in the day and some people dont know that.about the borders i dont know.

The screen I was talking about is the one with blue text on black background. You see it in pretty much every PSX game. I don't remember exactly what it says but it's something about piracy.

Well anyway I noticed that Castlevania seems to run fine with normal disc speed and smooth textures. I was more intrested in improved graphics so PSX emulation thing is no longer a problem.

But I could still use some information about that "PSX screen fix". Does it actually do anything because I don't see any difference when I turn it off ?
