hi guys. i am having a hard time with my drive burning dvd data.
i can burn dvdrw no problem or cd's +-r,rw.
when it comes to dvd+r it gives me errors of not being able to finalize after writing the data or it does not burn and stops after 3% of the process. i tried using nero and ashampoo.
as far as i remember there are two changes since the problems occurred:
    i have updated nero 6
    i have bought a different media , 100 dvd+r verbatim 16x
i never had problems before, although i used media of lower quality, unbranded like tevion for istance. could it be possibly the media?
anyway, i post the log of a failed dvd copy. i could burn the data on dvd+rw no problem but not on dvd+r.
    thanks if anyone can help

    Hi alanford
1st thing edit out your serial # - top of log and begins w/ 1A.
Don't need someone else using it.

Yeah those Matshita drive can drive you insane :)
I have the UJ840 and it doesn't like Verbatim 16x media either so this might be the case here too.
A shame really cause no problems with it & other burners - good media too.

Looks like your firmware is probably update to date unless this is a Sony laptop - the latest for that is 1.11

    File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS'
    File 'Drivers\InCDfs.SYS'

Roxio and Nero don't always play well together esp when Nero's InCD is installed.
So you can also try uninstalling Roxio and run the zap tool.
Then uninstalling InCD and running the clean tool.

    hi binkie7
thanks very much, you have been very clear.
i have tried different media, tdk +,- and it has no problem. i sense the - disks have less problems.
what i don't understand, is how comes that i could use the firsta ca. 20 disks from the spindle of 100 without any hassle? i will try to uninstall in cd as you suggest.
thanks for the tip, but i cannot find the edit function, it works only for the thread title. bye

    You're welcome alanford
Just my experience with Matshita but it seems to be picky with media at times. And yes for me too the +R it tends to dislike more.
Another thing could be you got a bad batch of Verbs - to test that out if you have another burner try them in that one.

    thank you. i need glasses.
i thought myself it could be a bad batch with some good ones on top, in fact it was at half price, but in a reliable shop. as we say here:
he who spends more, saves better.
    good day

Yeah unfortunately not even the best are 100% all the time. May be the case here.
At least you still have other media that works with it so thats a good thing.

    Have a good one!
