Okay so like before I knew about jumper settings and what not I put my Maxtor hard drive into my PC formatted to PS2 and stuck it in my PS2. The memory card exploit boot program recognized the HDD and I was happy. I later played with the jumper settings (after learning how to use them) to "DS (Master)" but then my PS2 couldn't detect it at all. I think the jumper was on like something that I can't remember but it worked. I tried all the combinations but to no avail. What happened?!?

What is the true jumper settings?
    here are my options:
    DS (Master)
    CS Enabled
    Cap Limit
    DS (Slave) or Spare

I only have one jumper do I need another or something im like totally confused.

With most 8 pin hard drives the master setting is either

    o---
    o---

    or

    ooo-
    o---
