Well I got about halfway through my Messiah2 Pro install, and realized that it was way past may skill level. I undid the few wires that I did, including a couple on the dvd controller chip, and put it all back together. Now when I turn on the ps2, I just get a black screen....? The tray opens and closes, and the lights come on, but thats about it. Any ideas on what to check first?

    Re-check ALL your previous joints....

    Check for:

Dry joints where you removed the wires (no solder joining leg to pad)
Solder shorts across the Bios pins - this is common - and also dry joints there.

Finally re-check the membrane cable from motherboard to reset/eject button - make sure it is inserted correctly BOTH ends and also that there are no tears in it - could also check continuity of the cable using a dvm...
