i'm finding a lot of old threads about metroid prime 3 bricking consoles, and having to burn 2 separate discs; one with region frii and one with brickblocker.

then putting the rfrii one in, pulling the powercord out during the install, and then playing with the brickblocked one from then on. yes, i used the search function, i think i pretty much understand the process, BUT...

these threads are all a bit outdated in that the topic refers to 3.0U and 3.0J frimwares. i'm currently running official wii firmware 3.1J updated from off the 'net (i live in japan), so has this all become a non-issue?

from my understanding, burning a single brickblocked copy wasn't good enough. you needed to do this crap with a second burned disc first.. is that still the case now that 3.1 is out?
