I have been having a hard time finding Sony DVD+R that are made in Japan at any of the stores in my area. I have not found any and can't find another brand made in Japan either. Is anyone experiencing this as well?

Yep they are pretty hard to find. The made in Taiwan Sony's are good - burned quite a few w/o any problems.
Verbatim goes on sale every so often just like the Sony's.
Check out supermediastore to get Taiyo Yuden direct instead of having to try and find MIJ made media.

Production of optical media is moving very quickly out of Japan to Taiwan and to other free-trade zones such as Viet Nam and Hong Kong. Taiyo Yuden is the last hold out. The fact that they have not moved to DL and were slow to DVD+/-R 16X is writing on the wall.

Well I guess I better order some online. I don't like any of the taiwanese made DVD's.
