I've read through these forums and have tried all that has been suggested, but I just can't seem to get these to play correctly. Specifically, if I download a movie trailer in .mp4 720p, it plays beautifully, but if I download a .mkv 720p TV show torrent (Heroes/Terminator/etc), the audio lags behind the video, making it unwatchable.
It's already been established that my PC is capable of playing 720p, but this is really annoying me. Can anybody help?
    Should I include my dxdiag?

Try a different player. What player do you use?
I have some DivxUltra avi files that the audio always lags if I play it through WMP or MPC with. The only player that plays it okay is VLC.

I'm using Windows Media Player Classic, but I've tried VLC as well. Unfortunately for me, it seems .mkv is the format of choice for TV captures.
I'm going to try uninstalling/reinstalling everything again.
