I hope this is the right place to ask this kind of question. I have a V4 PS2 with a Magic 3.1 mod chip. I was putzing around and saw that someone had a post about a firmware upgrade on a Matrix chip. Does anyone know anything about a firmware upgrade on my chip? I checked around and couldn't find anything (so there probably isn't one). If anyone stumbles upon one, please let me know. Thanks.

Also, I heard that modding your PS2 increases the voltage on the laser, which could burn it out prematurely. Anyone know anything for sure about this?

Nevermind, I just read that the DSM3 or whatever modchip is the only flash upgradeable one. If someone knows differently however, let me know.
