to flash a mod chip wouldnt i need to burn it to a cd... could i use a cdrw???
really depends on how you want to go about it
1) buy a programmer, flash chip, then install (17-20 bucks for programmer)
2) flash with a bios cd..
the thing is.. when determining what media to use, you will need to figure out what type of dvdrom drive your xbox has.. if its a thompson, you might need to use a cd-rw or dvd-r.. if its a samsung, you can probably get away with cd-r
Thanx Great Help.
One question were can I buy a programmer (in America) prefeable its for a X-ecuter lite 2.2. Also do no how i can check wht version of xbox I have??
this is the site i used to buy my chip at, i'm not positive if it's US or not, but if it isn't then it still ships to US fairly quick
as for knowing what version you have, check this site
look at the top left picture, if you have 2 heat sinks, then you have v1.1 or later. if you have 1 heatsink over the CPU (i assume) and a fan, like mine, then you have v1.0. it doesn't matter too much as to what version of an xbox you have, most chips are compatable with all versions.
Thanx Great help!!
