Hello there, I had a Modded xbox 360 (elite) that was modded. I did not do the modd, but rather bought it already like that from someone along with about 40+ burned and real games. Well, like an idiot...I updated my xbox 360, as it kept saying to update. well since the update. it no longer plays my burned games!! I even went and called the ppl at xbox in order to "undo" my update, she walked me through the steps to where i can find the update and uninstall it..but it was not there for me to uninstall. I was wondering, is there any possible way to save my modd xbox? it still plays normal games, but no longer my burned ones. all bc of a stupid update that i just HAD to do -.-

Also, I even found the old one that i had on it, and try to install it on there to trick it "update" to the old...did not work either.
So am i going to have to find someone to re-mod my xbox? or is that impossible now? or is there another easier way?

    thanks,
    Ashe

Sounds to me that you just got the update that re-flashed the DVD Drive back to stock. So ya, you'll need someone to re-mod it for you.

Any Chance I can just get that software downloaded on my PC that creates "backup" files of the original game and use it that way? It says no mod is needed on the stock drive. Software is called "Copy That Game" says it even burns "backup" to those that state its uncopyable.

Or do you think its just a waste? Has anyone else tried to do this?
& Does anyone know how maybe I can find the whole process step by step online so Maybe I can do it? because, I honestly dont know anyone who does it. All the ppl I knew done moved far away. So im sort of SOL. lol

    thank you soo much :)

Never heard of such software, sounds like a scam to me! Your best option is to just get it remodded, there really is no other way to get your problem fixed. You can't downgrade firmwares, so that's your best option, to get it remodded.

    Bummer... :(
Well, I have searched online on how to re-mod (re-flash) and there are so many different ways. Is there a certain way I should try it?

    Thank you so much DavGerm4

Look for tutorials that involve a program called JungleFlasher. That's the guide you'll want to use for re-flashing your xbox 360. Because it has in its guide how to flash for a drive that has been flashed back to stock, which is what you are currently in.

"bought it already like that from someone along with about 40+ burned and real games"
Edit this line otherwise this thread if seen by the moderators will be closed due to piracy.
Like DavGerm4 said sounds like it was flashed back to stock firmware when you updated the dash on the console.Your best bet now would be sending it to someone who can flash the drive for you for a fee.Only because you would need a compatible sata chipset or x360usb/ck3 and maybe a probe depending on which drive you have.So it would be more cost effective to have it done through a service.Depending on your region uk/usa etc google xbox360 flashing service or maybe someone within this forum might well do it for you. They would only need to acquire the dvd drive not the console(there are many youtube vids showing you how to open the console. If the burnt games were yours from your backups you own you could run them through imgburn to create a iso file then through xbgx 360 to repatch the iso and reburn with a compatible burner and media(this is a thread all on its own!!)Hope this helps.

Try modding it again, find someone to do it for u if u can't do it and always ask it to be flashed to stock firmware before updating. U do not update a modded xbox.

richietea is correct. The tools and knowlege to do the job will be more costly than to get the service done, but if you are willing to spend lots of time studying and investing, you could acquire what you need and be set for next time it happens. If you need assistance, let me know.

That is absolute bullshit. Modding can even extend the lifetime, because when modding the console you normally also clean it internally, removing all the dust.

I don't know about you Eisherz but when i open up a console to flash a drive or reapply thermal compound to the cpu/gpu i also remove the fan and clean, run a keyboard duster over the mobo and make sure the heat sinks grills are open, think it would be lazy not to considering you spent your time opening the case in the first instance.

I know you did, plus there is no evidence to suggest otherwise that a flashed/modded console reduces its shelve life.I know some peeps remove the laser ribbon just in case while flashing but other than that no problems.Ive had my console flashed for a good 3 years now,no rrod, error messages or even weak laser/replacements or pot tweaks.

I really appreciate every one still commenting on this post for me. I still have yet to solve the problem. I found an youtube tutorial about flashing it "the old way" it was basically hooking up the Senta cord from a PC tower's to your xbox drive and running some programs. does that sound about right?
