Motorola V550 Phone Tools doesn't find my phone

    I have downloaded from one of the links I found in this forum
    the phone tools version below.

    Motorola.Mobile.PhoneTools.v3.11h.Final.Retail.rar

    after installing this software...it runs,but never finds my motorola v550.... what s wrong.

    what connection are you using usb cable or bluetooth? Also what operating system?

    I do use win. XP home.. I usb bluetooth... The connection is fine..though, the mobile phone tools program doesn't see my motorola v 550..

    start mpt as soon as the phone pops up go to menu ,setup, general setup , communication ,change modem and change to bluetooth dun client. and it should work . I use a 3com bluetooth device and when I start mpt the phone ask weather to grant permission to my computer press grant and its connected. I have not been able to upload ringtones with the bluetooth . I have to use the usb cable.
