Are you viewing these backups on the pc or on a stand alone player?

Hey saugmon, your demon frog is creeping me out man. I had the same problem with the freezing so I just switched back to burn with Nero instead of DVD Decrypter.

    Hey dvdripdvd, It's disco frog,lol

I couldn't get that lucky on having freezing/pixellation issues. I used to get the no disc inserted errors on my other 2 burners-even using ty's. Now I got 2 benq's and issue is resolved.Any errors besides "no disc inserted" errors should be an easy fix.Usually the high quality media and/or a slower burn speed. Then you throw in stick-on labels, multitasking, fragmented hard drive, and probably a bunch more stuff that can screw up those pesky stand alone players.

Hey hawk, Those sony +8x's should be pretty good.MFG code: YUDEN000-T02 and sony D11.
The only trouble I have with them is they will burn at 16x if I leave my burn settings set on max.

Double check your burn settings in dvd shrink's backup options,it may be set at max.Keep it at 4x.

You sound like you back them up like me-dvd shrink and nero.

When it comes down to playing your backups in standalone players, some of them can have problems reading them.

Also try burning with dvd decrypter and see if same issue occurs.

Where at on your backup is the freezing,random-or end of the backup?

Do you backup entire dvd or main-movie only?

    OK hawk1418,
Do yourself a favor. See the link in my signature? Go there and use the very first guide to back up a movie. Then report back and let us know if you are still having any issues. :)
If your still having problems after backing up your DVD with that guide then there are some other issues with your system we may need to look at.

As bbmaYO SAID TRY HIS GUIDE i NEVER HAVE ANY LUCK JUST USING SHRINK. ALWAYS USE WITH DECRYPTER. Whoops cap lock on. Also try playing ur disc's in your buddys player it may just be a compatibility issue. Also I was using verbatium disc's with same problem swicthed to tdk everything is bliss now.

    hawk,
I had the same problem with Shrink.
    1. Use good media. (I use Sony)
    2. During the burning process make sure nothing else is running (Diskeeper, Email, etc).
    3. Change your burn speed to 4X. Faster is not always better.

    I ahven't had a problem since.
