i am a little lost as what you are trying to do here, why are you using virtualdub? are you trying to back up a dvd disk, or a download file? also what is the movie, also no movie is to big to backup? and you say the movie is 600 mg, that size will fit on a cd! and why are you wanting to convert vob's to avi?

ok, let me start again, the movies are: perfect stranger and reign over me, i reauthored one movie and back uped the main movie only, when I went to nero to burn it, it said that it is too big to fit on my blank dvd. I tried the other movie and got the same thing. I looked on afterdawn to see it anyone had wrote anything about it, and read that if the files are to large to can split the movie and put it on two dvd's, hence where I am stuck. Hope this helps you help me. Thanks :) sals

you can split them. i have never done it.
there should be able to get them on to a single layer dvd no problem
thou using shrink or recode. to make them smaller.
but if they are only 600mb. a dvd5 hold 4.3g do you see ?
what version of nero do you have?
you need vob to burn dvd... not avi

If you want to use NERO, than use Nero Recode, it will compress your file to fit to DVD5(4.7GB)
Also Shrink will compress the file if you use Reauthor option.

Hi all, Problem solved I managed to do both movies, a big thank you to all who helped out, and a big thanks to who offered NeroRecode. That was all I used and it shrunk them down to fit on a normal dvd. Thank you :)
