Loaded a movie in MPC and the subtitle did not load. A caption Cannot render file popped up. How can I continue?

Try to play it with VLC. MPC might not support whatever codec was used to encode your file, or something needs to be changed in your settings.
What type of video is it that you are trying to play(flv, divx, mpeg...)?

The video plays OK (.avi) but when tries to load subtitle (.srt) a pop up comes up :
To load subtitle you have to change the video renderer and reopen file.
    Then a list follows:
Direct show VMR7/VMR9 render less or Haali's etc

    What must I do?
    Tks

Well, you have to do what it tells you to...
Got to View -> Options -> Playback -> Output -> DirectShow Video Choose VMR7(renderless) or VMR9(renderless)
