Im new at DVD burning. I downloaded a movie off kazaa named Vampire Hunter D. The file was in .avi format. So i read a few forums and I came to the conclusion that I needed to convert it to MPEG-2 format. I have a dvd burner, so I dont think i need to use these VCD or SVCD formats. Inicially the file size was about 700MB. After convertion it was like 3.4GB. I used HT MPEG Encoder 7.0 for the conversion. I put the output files on a dvd-r using Nero 6.
I would not work in my DVD player. What did i do wrong?

You can try creating a folde named VIDEO_TS and put your MPEG 2 in there and then burn it on your disk with that file (it has to be all caps just as I typed it) This is assuming you have all the setting correct in your file 720x480 and 48.000KHz . You could also try using WinAVI it will do everything for you very easy (look on kazza)
