MPEG to DVD?

    Ok, I just wanted to ask in order to burn a MPG movie to a DVD do i have to conevert the MPG file to DVD?? I usally Convert AVI to DVD but i just wanted to know if i had to convert MPG also.

    Usually a .MPG file is either mpeg-1/VCD or mpeg-2/SVCD. My opinion is that it's better to 'author' multiple (S)VCD movies into a singe DVD instead of converting 1 mpeg movie into 1 DVD MPEG-2 .VOB file (since garbage in = garbage out, you wouldn't gain any quality by that conversion, losing the extra free space left in the DVD-R by a simple MPG movie). Usually DVD Lab works for this...
