You do know thatt placing multiple movies on a DVD-5 will degrade the overall picture quality. However, reguardless I think intervideo 3.x has a DVD merge option that should do the trick.

Well, like Gnomex says, this could lead to a loss of video quality.

But you do not tell us the format these "movies" are in. That actually makes quite a bit of difference.

    bazilla,

You are correct, the initial source video format will play a major role in merging video_ts folders. Good Point!

Dvdshrink is a good proggy for this. I would say 2-3 movies is enough for a dvd-5 disk. dvdshrink will only compress to a certain percentage but if the end file is still too big just run it through dvdshrink again. SIMPLE!

I have been interested in doing that. I mean I have a few DVD's where you can select the movie from a menu... the disc is nothing but the movies.

How can I do this, I know to use DVD shrink to compress the files, but how would I add a menu?

Could I use Roxio DVDcreator. I was able to make menu'd discs for music videos with that. I am just curios as to how I would transfer 3 vidoe_ts and 3 audio_ts folders to this program and enable a menu to select which movie.

I didnt start a new thread as this is in reference to this topic.

    Thanks.

    odubb,
When you say you can't back it what do you mean and what programs have you tried. Probably the best ripper out there is dvddecrypter. If that won't work nothing will.

Well in that case try any of these:
    Dvdshrink - Free
Clonedvd - 21 day trial period which after will set you back 39.00 US - Very good program and easy.
1click dvd copy - another easy program - trial period also.
    dvd2one - trial period aswell.
I'll let you decide the best for your needs!
