i have a rar file and inside it is a bunch of rar files with the same name and each one contains the same file then underneath them is an SFV file and a buch of .XX (XX = number) files. What is all this?

Extract and find out ;). The rar files obviously hold more rar archives that are split into .r00, .r01, .....to .rar. Usually after the first 20 or 30, the files lose the .r designation but they are most certainly part of the archive. Basicly your extracting once to a folder, then extract what was extracted. The sfv is a crc check. Oh and by the way, it is probably some kind of pirated material so shame on you.
