My backups can be played, but every 8 secs or so, it stops to read the cd, I assume.

    Hi,

I back up my ps2 dvd game, GTA San Andreas and NBA Street Vol. 2, using the guides on the first thread.

The backup is playable on my ps2, but it takes wayyyyyyy long time when loading compared to the original DVD, for example when playing the original DVD it only takes 15 sec to load the game, but using the backup DVD, it takes 5 minutes or more to load.

Also, it keeps stopping every 8 seconds or so to read the DVD, in the middle of the game.

Does anyone know how to deal with this issue?

    Thanks.

sounds like your ps2 is struggling to read the disc, you could try cleaning/adjusting the laser, burning to a different media or burning at a slower speed

    I burned the DVD+R at 1x speed.

Is it because my ps2 is an earlier version, so that it couldn't read DVD+R correctly?

Would you tell me, in details, how to clean the lens?
