My burner only burns DVD-R, does that matter

I just got a burner and I noticed it is compatible with only DVD-R and DVD-RW. I've read some people can't play them. I have a V7, does anyone think I would have a problem playing burnt games.

    PS2 V7 will read DVD-R.. I don't know about -RW.

You should have a problem...just use DVD-R for games and movies

    No it does not matter.
The ink used for +R's and -R's is the same.
The +R's are not going to work any better on PS2 backup games.

It is said that older PS2's V4 and earlier can't read the +R format.
