    My DVD burner won't read ps2 games, but will backup dvd's with no problem. could there be a problem with the brand/model burner I have? Or maybe some sort of driver settings that are out of whack? Thanks for your time.

    But it doesn't backup at all. it just keeps trying to read the game. and if anything my computer reads it as a blank disc, and says that its erasable.

    Are you using FAT32 on your PC's hard drives or?

    Highly unlikely that would have any bearing on why the disc won't read in the DVD-ROM drive! lol.

    My guess is that the disc you are trying to read is either a backup on poor quality media, or if its an original, then it's too badly scratched/damaged to read.

    burner=tsstcorp cd/dvdw ts-h552b, (came with my e-machines t6412).
    the programs i've tryed, UltraISO, Alcohol20%, DVDDecrypter, Nero, Ripit4me. I've tryed several games, scarface is the most recent. but they all seem to have trouble being read.

    the only thing i can think of is a bad pc config

    should check "Properties - My Computer > Hardware tab > Device Manager"
    update your drivers, if not: keep trying .
