Hi There! I am new at DVD burning but have successful burnt quite a few DVD's using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. My problem now is I have been able to copy copied DVD's but was wondering if anyone knew how I could reduce the probability of the DVD's freezing on playback... this only happens on copies of already copied DVD's
My burner is compatible to burn DVD-R and DVD+R as for the brands i have tried it on X-logic DVD-R and a i bought a spool of i think it was Melody brand DVD+R from the local computer fair....same thing happens with both...
Reduce the the probability of of the dvd's freezing on playback? 1)High quality media, especially on the ones you want to re-rip. 2) 4x burn speed 3) High quality burner 4) High quality software to do the re-ripping. I use nero express to re-copy my backups. I burn all at 4x on high quality media that I want to re-rip and have no problems on re-rips.I have even re-ripped from one of my re-rips and looked just as good as the original backup copy.No coasters.50 out of 50 successful. That cheap crap media probably won't allow you to re-rip.
Yes, definitely a problem. Any dvd media will work for backing up data files but for vidio reproduction you need good, high quality, proven media. Try some TY, Verbatum Datalife Plus, Maxell, Ricohjpn, Sony, or TDK. Stay away from no name brands, retail store branded media (Staples, Comp USA, etc.) and memorex.
