my dvds wont burn at 4X pease help

    i have an LG GSA-4040B multi format internal dvd drive and use winxp home. with memorex dvd-rs they only burn at 2X but they are saposed to be able to burn at 4X i am wondering why this is and if there is any way to fix this problem. if a firmware update is how could someone please tell me how to do that because i dont know how to.

    I'd say you have some 2.4X media. What program are you using to burn with? Grab a 'disc media checker' piece of software download and run it on your blanks to see if it will tell if you have 2.4X or 4X.

    You need to upgrade your firmware to the latest, this will solve many issues. But not all 4X media will burn at 4X. RitekG04's always a good choice will burn at 4X, but the discs you have may also after the new FW (303).

    Read the first FAQ on updating.

    To get to the FW, click Device Driver, then CD-RW (not DVD).
