I have flashed all possible NEC firmwares: 1.08, 1.09 but 1.0A, but it still didn't fix my problem. My DVD RW drive can't read any DVDs. I don't think it's a matter of media 'coz it worked fine before. I used to be able to write movie, games, backup on both + / - recordable DVDs. If this question has been asked previously, please direct me to that existing thread. Thanks a million!

It reads/writes CD/CDR/CDRW fine. No problem! only DVDs. The 64 million dollar question is 'why it stops playing/writing DVD all of a sudden?' I didn't change anything hardware/software-wise and it worked perfectly before. Why?
