my pc can't find my dvd rewriter

    I opened my computer today and when i went to My Computer, i found out that both my CD drive and my DVD Rewriter is missing. So i inserted a movie DVD into the drive and tried to play it, both Windows Media Player and DivX can't find the drive either. Except this, everything else on the computer is normal. Can somebody help?

    reboot your computer, if that dont work install force ASPI18, and update your ROM and Burner firmware if necessary.

    any error codes like 39? any exclamation marks in device manager? does motherboard see the drives?
