    Mario Strikers I dont think that will fully brick a WII it will only make it so you cant change settings if U have a NTSC-U WII get a copy of big brain acadamy WII Degree and update it should fix it

    and if it is fully bricked its why they call it a brick its as useful as a brick

    as said, Get a NTSC-U version of Big Brain Academy Wii Degree. It should prompt you to do an update (which will be a NTSC-U update) meaning your Wii settings will become available again.

    Well as long as you can get some sort of response out of the wii and don't see any lights or screen at all, I'd say there's some shread of hope somewhere.

    I'm courious if anyone has figured out any startup commands like on the mac you can hold down the mouse button while it's booting and force-ejact its floppy. Perhaps someone figured out holding "A", "-" and "Down" did something?

    Just a thought.

    But like that other post says, pop in Brain academy - it has, so far, solved everyone else's problems (as far as I know)

    The BIG difference between Big brain academy and your other games is their Software version they come with. Obviously any other game you own is too "old" to update the wii to work again.

    Anyways, I personally think that your next step is to pop in BBA and hope it fixes the wii.

    It still astounds me that people are still bricking their Wii systems with all the threads that have been started on brick issues.

    @jagf96

    I have heard from a few people that claim they have bricked their Wii completely by updating with Mario Strikers as well.

    I think I know why this has happened.

    It is similar to what had happened to the PAL Wii's bricked from the Super Paper Mario update. In the case of Super Paper Mario the PAL Wii's in my opinion where being bricked due to a DVD drive firmware update included in the 2.0 firmware. This bricking their Wii completely by installing NTSC(U) Firmware onto their PAL Wii DVD drive.

    Have you ever updated your Wii before?

    If your Wii had the original 1.0 firmware installed then Mario Strikers possibly could have completely bricked your Wii.

    Each Game Disc might have multiple firmware versions actually on the game disc. These updates need to be applied before applying the newest update.

    If this is true then it would update from your original firmware 1.0U to the 2.0E firmware (2.0 had to have a DVD drive firmware update) then it would update to the 2.1E firmware.

    So if the Mario Strikers installed all available firmware it would have installed the 2.0E firmware on your NTSC(U) DVD drive. This is the reason for the complete brick.

    Users that had the 2.0U firmware installed on their Wii only had the Wii settings bricked because the 2.1E firmware was only a system update. This not bricking the DVD drive making it possible to flash back to the correct firmware using Big Brain Academy 2.2U update.

    As of now there is no fix for your issue.

    What I would like to know is why anyone would even bother with PAL games if they have an NTSC WII and/or living in the regions that NTSC is used. This problem wouldn't have happened if Mario Strikers was an NTSC copy/backup.

    Pal = Lame. Even Europeans disagree to it.

    @cycon0

    The same reason why European Wii owners play NTSC(U) game disc on their PAL Wii systems.

    The Game either will not be released for PAL or the NTSC(U) version comes out before the PAL version.

    Mario Strikers NTSC(U) doesn't come out till next month. The European version came out last month. So NTSC(U) owners can play the game 2 months early by playing the PAL version.

    So I guess it isn't such a Lame excuse after all.

    Uhh you missed there a great opportunity to use WiiBrickBlocker...
    First time I tried to play this game on my NTSC wii it prompt me for an update. I trew the DVD in the garbage then used WiiBrickBlocker to remove the Update portion of my ISO Backup... Remember... WiiBrickBlocker. :/

    Wii Brick Blocker is a great edition to protecting yourself from a region brick. But I also advise others to keep the Wii up to date with the newest firmware as well. Using both methods lower the risk of a brick big time.
