I just bought 3500 with enclosure (USB) and have yet to burn a dvd. I tried Nero, Ulead, Sonic they all give me burn process failed. Could someone give a hint as to what i am doing wrong. I used DVD+r and DVD+RW both failed. DVD+r is not even reconized by the drive.

    Thanks

Tried that everything was ok till it was time to burn. I put in blank disk in and it was not recognized by the drive. I was so excited when I got the drive I feel like trashing it.

Have you got the latest firmware for your burner?

Is your drive plugged into USB 1 or USB 2 port on the PC? USB 1 doesn't have a fast enough data rate to burn dvds Does the computer see a usb device connected? It could be a bad or loose connection in the enclosure.

Have you made sure the drive is good? ie.. try it out of the casing internally in a computer. I have 2 NEC 3500A's and they are perfect! Also get the latest firmware 2.18
