    1. your burner should be fine.
    2. media is a question of opinion. In general the better the media the better your success rate will be. Verbatim & Taiyo Yuden worked great for me, But i also used Philips for about a year and they never failed me. Yet my friends PS2 had a problem with the Philips discs that mine played. He swears by TDK and every one works on his. But on mine they have audio video problems. Yet i can take that TDK and copy it to the media my PS2 likes (Philips,Verbatim or TY) and then it plays fine.
So it is a factor of what your PS2 likes and what your burner does a goo job with. But some media like Memorex are just bad and will not work for most people.

    there is a media guide.
My suggestion is that you buy a few brands in small pack sizes like 3 or 5. Yes it cost more but will save you from getting 25 discs that will not work. Once you find one that works every time then stick to it like glue.

as far as actually burning the games that you can find in the bold sticky threads at the top of the forum.

If you have never heard of it its probably crap. Check the media ID of the disk. If u have dvd decripter installed that will tell u the media ID code. Nero's tool also have some of that feature.

How should i have heaard of it!? I said im new to this. I havent heard about many dvd brands.

    This is the deal:

I have Tuffdisc 8X Dvd-R 4.7 GB and my burner you know already.

Ok now its like this, i´ve downloaded Metal Gear solid 1 "Pack" because the original games were worn out so i needed to back them up.

Since they are cd version (metal gear solid 1) i was wondering can i burn them to all in one dvd or do i need to burn them on 2 CD:S???

And i have also metal gear solid 3 subsistance on 2 seperate discs. Is it just to burn it on alcol 120% and ps2 mode?

    Thanks 4 all help.

my bad, i was sleepy that day...also here is the like to the media ID to check if u got good dvd's
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/240341
If u dont have good quality dvd's it is not good for the laser and after a year or two (maybe faster) even if not in use the data on the disk gets corrupted and lost.

Metal Gear Solid 1 is a PlayStation 1 game and must be burned on a CD. As for metal gear solid 3 subsistance...im not sure about it, but i think it was a dual layer but i have downloaded it and it was 2 disk game...so im not sure, but if it is DVD5 u can just burn it with Alchol 120% with the PlayStation 2 disk type...u dont have to have that disk type to playstation 2...since u do have a modchip. Happy burning.

that list isnt the best...its just the one on PS2 backup disk id, u can find other better ones. or u could just google.
tth02 is a fake ID made by infosmart (Hong Kong) Hong Kong has really worst blank DVDs. So its not good for PS2 or anything dvd player/burner.

they say its good!? its not that i dont believe you, its just taht there are so many opinions and so many different reviews but at the same time i do not wish to destroy my ps2 lens now that its coming back from workshop. I always want to do it the proper way.

Anyways i was thinking of ordering proper dvd and cd

    Are these ok!?

    http://www.medieshoppen.dk/shop/default.asp?SetLng=11

"2. I recommend that you use Taiyo yuden, verbatim or maxell(made in Japan) as most people have success with those discs."

that link u sent...its just ppl saying their results of their burns and mostly not too accurate...But they aren't good DVDs and yes Taiyo yuden, verbatim and maxell ane good disk. I always buy from Sony, they have good media sometimes there are Taiyo yuden (If made in Japan) , but mostly not anymore but still good disks and there are easy to find where i live...but depending on where u live they are going to be fakes using good brand names.

I have never heard of RiVision so i have no clue, also buy from good sites that will guarantee taiyo yudent dvds/ guarantee real verbatim disks. Sites like Meritline.com
