can any1 tell me where i could purchase a good soldering iron to install modchips?
im sure someone out there knows a few good sites where i can purchase 1?
I got a cheap 30watt iron from RadioShack that works fine for me.
did u install ur own modchip using that iron?
If you are just worried about a good one to use for installing,I think the 30watt one would be fine. The one I used was one that could be adjusted from hot enough to solder to too damn hot for anything. Whatever you use, just use a very very fine tip and if you are using one that can be adjusted, keep it just low enough to melt the solder, but not so hot that it burns off contacts.
Yes, I used that iron on my install.
thx alot benagain and icemonkey appreciate the info
I think 30 watt is high they reccomend 15 wat or lower. Even with the 15 watt I burnt pieces off for holding it on the motherboard too long.
what size tips do you lot use?
