I've been told my G4's DVD burner may be out dated and I could be in need of a new one. I'm leaning towards buying an AO8, but I saw an AO9 on the shelf next to it. Anybody know the difference? And will either one work on a MAC?
My computer is a G4 with OS X version 10.2.8 (if that info helps)

I would get a second opinion. Burners really don't get "outdated" except for speed and dual layer capability. If it's not burning anymore, get a new one. If it only burns + or - discs and you want it to burn the other format, get a new one. If it only burns single layer and you want to use dual layer, get a new one. Other than that, unless you absolutely want a new one, keep it.
