you should find Windows XP SP2 from the list of updates
how can i update my from service pack 1 to service pack 2. i downloaded the file and when i open it it says that the file cannot be specified. if anybody can help it would be useful.
What do i type in after I click on run?
When you click on start at the top you should see an option that says windows updates. If not click on help and support you should be able to get to it from there.
its in the top section of all programs
sorry i didnt mean to say RUN, i ment to say All programs
when i click on it in the programs menu it open up a internet explorer window. then it says

The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view.
are you running a genuine copy of windows or a pirated one?
Don't beat around the bush, Auslander. LOLLOL!
no point in messing around; we all know MS has a stick up their butt about running non-genuine version of windows. ^.^
but that wouldnt make a difference to the problem that is occuring here, if his copy wasnt genuine and microsoft new it, he would no doubt get the stupid notification from microsoft.
i have never had a genuine copy of windows as i refuse to pay stupid amounts of money for an operating system
my copy of XP was $25 from a college...don't give me anything about it being too expensive for the convenience, or go legit with linux.
to the original poster, i suggest getting a sp2 disc and trying to install in safe mode.
or, just backup and reinstall windows.
try this site to get sp2 installed. http://windowsupdate.62nds.com/whyuse.php

ireland posted that originally if i'm correct.
well, then my hetero man-love goes out to him, too. ^.^
