thanks. I was thinking of buying a fliptop cover, but installing it looks kindof complicated and I hope I don't wreck anything. Has anyone done itbefore, and if so, how complicated is it?

I've done it before and it's not that hard.

ok, but i noticed you have to remove a cover from the dvd/cd tray, why is that there in the first place? to protect it?

I believe the only reason the cover is on the tray is to hold the white disc which is the magnet that keeps the disc in place. When you get your fliptop, you will put that magnet on the lid, or you can even set the disc in place with the lid open. Either way, your disc will be held.

Yeah dmaul1 is right. The only purpose of the cd/dvd drive cover is too hold the white disc.
